The Red Ensign flag, or ‘Red Duster’ as is it is affectionately known, has been the recognised flag of the British Merchant Navy since 1854.
The annual event recognises the sacrifices made by seafarers during World War II and those currently working at sea, helping import food, fuel and other goods.
