Woman Dies After Being Hit By Train

A woman has died after being hit by a train between Desborough and Kettering.

Emergency services were called to the line at 2.18pm, following reports of a casualty on the tracks.

A spokesperson for British Transport Police told Hfm: “Paramedics also attended, however sadly a woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

“This incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”

Train services from Market Harborough were suspended as the line was closed, although are no running again, subject to delays.
