Thieves Steal Plants From Floral Displays In Market Harborough

Written by on 15th June 2021

Thieves have stolen plants from floral displays in Market Harborough town centre.

Over 20 were taken from planters on The Square sometime over the weekend, leaving the town’s in-bloom team volunteers shocked and disappointed.

They have spent the past few weeks preparing the displays to make the town centre look good, after nurturing the plants themselves.

The displays are part of this year’s entry into the East Midlands in Bloom competition.

Barbara Tallis, Chair of Harborough in Bloom, spoke to Hfm:

A spokesperson for Leicestershire Police said: “Around 9.30am on Monday 14 June, officers received a report of plants having been stolen from The Square, Market Harborough.

“The theft is believed to have taken place between midday on June 12 and 9.30am on June 14.”

“Anyone with any information about this incident is asked to call 101 quoting reference 21*329466.”
