Views Sought On Making Traffic Lights Permanent
Written by HFM News on 1st June 2021
Highway bosses want people’s views on making temporary traffic lights on Kettering Road in Little Bowden permanent.
They were installed either side of the railway bridge last year – as part of a scheme to improve safety for cyclists – replacing the previous give way system.
Leicestershire County Council has launched a four-week public consultation before making a final decision.
Councillor Ozzy O’Shea, cabinet member for highways and transport, said: “We have had a lot of very positive feedback on this scheme, which is fantastic.
“We firmly believe the scheme will keep cyclists and motorists safe and ease traffic congestion by keeping traffic flowing through Market Harborough.
“I urge all Market Harborough residents to let us know their views by Friday 25 June.”
The consultation closes at midnight on Friday 25 June, and residents can send the council their views via email: EATF@leics.gov.uk or by contacting the Customer Service Centre on 0116 305 0001
