New space is being created for community-led events in Market Harborough, thanks to a grant of £9,000
It has been handed to the Eco Village on St Mary’s Road by the Severn Trent Water Community fund.
Plans are now afoot to host small events and workshops with a ‘sustainable’ theme, including for a Community Garden project which will bring together residents, schools and community groups.
Other events like clothing swaps and using the venue to host sustainable children’s parties are also being considered.
Beth Lambert, joint founder of the Eco Village spoke to Hfm’s Nick Shaw:

Sue Heyes, Community Fund Officer at Severn Trent said: “We’re so proud that our Community Fund has been able to support such a fantastic project, one that will give the local community a safe, functional space to use for such a diverse range of projects.”
