Probe Into School’s Cyber-Attack ‘On-Going’

Detectives are continuing to gather evidence after a cyber-attack on a Market Harborough school’s IT systems earlier this year.
Leicestershire Police say the investigation into the ‘sophisticated hack’ at Welland Park Academy is on-going, including taking statements from pupils who were affected.
The school’s IT network was infiltrated and personal computers belonging to over 90 students were affected, with hard drives wiped, after they had connected to it for remote lessons.
The attack in January prevented remote learning taking place for nearly a week, with specialist officers from the force’s Cyber Crime Unit called in.
A 28-year-old man from Wellingborough, who was arrested in connection with the cyber attack, remains under investigation.
