Cat Found Safe & Well Five Days After Hitching Ride On Works Trailer

A family’s beloved pet cat has been found safe and well, five days after jumping aboard a works trailer outside her home.

Princess, aged 14, was spotted yesterday six miles away at Gilroes Cemetery in Leicester, close to the Severn Trent Water depot, where the vehicle she hitched a ride on was based.

It had been thought she could have travelled to Kibworth or Market Harborough, following information given to her owner by the company, prompting major searches to be launched in those areas.

Princess followed two women around the cemetery and then got into their car, prompting them to look in the barrel on her collar, which had contact details inside for her owner, Joanne Lloyd, from Narborough.

Joanne is thanking all who shared the appeal and told Hfm being reunited with Princess was the best Mother’s Day present ever.

Apart from being tired and hungry, the cat appeared unscathed from her adventure, although is set to be checked over by a vet today.
