Lockdown Sort-Out Unearths Pub’s 129-Year Old Valuation

A lock-down sort out at a pub in Welford has unearthed a document dating back 129 years.

It details a valuation that took place at The George Hotel – the former name for The Wharf Inn – on October 12th 1891.

Landlady Anna Raven found the handwritten inventory, which is in near pristine condition, behind a bureau in an upstairs office.

The valuation totalled £329.72
