Harborough Singer Launches ‘Lock-Down Choir’

A young opera singer from Market Harborough has launched a lock-down choir.

Olivia Slatter, 22, worked with the town’s Brickwork Studios to secure £5,000 of National Lottery funding to set it up, to boost people’s mental health during the Cornavirus pandemic and bring singers together, who can’t rehearse in person, due to restrictions.

In just a few weeks 60 people from across Leicestershire have joined ‘Olivia’s Lockdown Choir’ and there is space for more!

Members are to get together virtually to rehearse on-line, with the aim of recording a version of Michael Jackson’s ‘Heal the World’ to release on CD.
