Technical Failure Forces Cancellation Of Council Meeting
Written by HFM News on 6th August 2020
A technical failure forced a Harborough Council meeting to be cancelled last night after the public could not access a live stream of proceedings.
The meeting was due to discuss a review of the number of councillors representing different areas.
A similar problem led to a meeting of the planning committee having to be re-run in June.
All Council meetings are currently taking place ‘virtually’ because of the Coronavirus pandemic, although rules state the public must be able to watch them.
A Council spokesman told Hfm the problem was identified a few minutes before the planned start of the meeting and apologised for any inconvenience caused.
It will now take place on August 19th.
