Much-needed resurfacing work costing £2.2m is to be carried out on the A6 Market Harborough bypass this autumn.
It will take place on stretch from the Rockingham Road roundabout to the Leicestershire-Northamptonshire border just past Clack Hill.

Leicestershire County Council has been handed cash from the government’s ‘local highways maintenance challenge fund’ to pay for the work.
Cllr Trevor Pendleton, cabinet member for highways and transport, said: ‘I’m delighted that we’ve been awarded these funds, so we can carry out essential maintenance on these key routes in the county.
“Carrying out this work will help prolong their life, prevent issues from occurring in the future and improve journeys for road users as the local economy continues to recover from the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.”
