Alan’s Walking From Land’s End To John O’Groats – Virtually!

A retired vicar from Kibworth is walking the 850 mile distance from Lands End to John O’Groats without leaving the sheltered accommodation complex where he lives!

Alan Pyke, 82, is raising money for the Well charity in the village and is now over 670 miles into the journey, after starting the challenge at the end of March, when he fell into the ‘shielded’ category during the lock-down.

Alan, who lives at Stuart Court, and has already raised over £600 in sponsorship, spoke to Hfm:

The café at the Well will be in urgent need of redecoration before it opens again after lock-down and it is hoped improvements can be made to the kitchen, to make it easier for volunteers to work in.
