Review Of Under-Threat Bus Services Put On Hold

Number 33 BusA review of under-threat bus services in and around Harborough has been put on hold because of the coronavirus pandemic.

The number 33 town service in Market Harborough, the 44, linking the town with Foxton and Fleckney, and the 58, that runs between Market Harborough and Lutterworth were placed ‘at risk’ last year, when Leicestershire County Council announced plans to save £400,000 from routes it subsidises.

It says the review has been ‘paused’ to end uncertainty among bus users and service operators.

A spokesman told Hfm: “Another factor behind the decision is that the detailed passenger analysis which is used to inform the policy would not, at this current time, provide an accurate reflection of the transport needs of a particular area.

“We will keep people fully informed when a decision is taken to resume the Passenger Transport Policy and Strategy project reviews.”
