Firefighters Rescue Harris Hawk From Top Of House

Fire crews have rescued a Harris Hawk after it became trapped thirty feet up on the top of a house in Market Harborough.

Leather straps on the Bird Of Prey had become tangled around the TV aerial of the property on Nithsdale Avenue.

Firefighters were called just after 1.30pm and had to use an aerial platform to reach the bird and bring it down to safety.

The bird escaped without serious injury and is now being cared for at Ash Tree Vets in Market Harborough, while enquiries are made to trace its owner.
