Re-Appeal After Arson Attack

Police are re-appealing for witnesses a week on from an arson attack in Rothwell.

Petrol was poured through the letterbox of a ground-floor flat in Edinburgh Close and doused up the walls and in the garden, before being set alight sometime between 8.40 and 9.10pm last Wednesday (November 27th)

Luckily the blaze did not spread quickly and firefighters were able to put it out before it reached the building.

Officers, who are treating the incident as Arson with Intent to Endanger Life, say the occupier of the flat discovered the fire after hearing clattering coming from outside and called 999.
