Poignant Poppy Display Outside Fire Station

A poignant Poppy display has been created outside Market Harborough Fire Station.

It features dozen of woollen poppies in the ground, either side of a silhouette of a soldier standing next to a white cross, and firefighters have also added a silhouette of a soldier leading a horse.

Pupils from St Joseph’s and Farndon Fields Primary Schools are making their own poppies to add to the display and other people are being invited to place poppies there too.

Crew Manager Neil Youngman from Market Harborough Fire Station spoke to Hfm:

The firefighters are thanking the St Peter & St Paul Church in Great Bowden for donating the poppies used in their display last year and Gibbs & Dandy in Market Harborough for donating the wood for the silhouette cut-outs.
