Free Parking On December Saturdays

There will be free parking in Market Harborough on every Saturday throughout December, in a bid to encourage people to shop local.

Harborough Council will offer four-hours free parking in its short-term car parks and will waive charges all day in its long-term ones.

The initiative will start on December 7th, which is Small Business Saturday, a national initiative to support independent retailers, and continue on the three following Saturdays.

Drivers will stay have to obtain a ticket from machines, despite not having to pay.

The Council has offered free parking on Saturdays during the festive period for the past few years, with traders reporting a higher footfall in the town centre.

There will also be free parking in the Council’s car parks in Lutterworth on Saturdays in December.
