Market Harborough’s Town Centre Post Office will stay open in its current location until the end of the year.
Bosses have extended services at the branch, inside the GT News Shop in St Mary’s Place, for another three months – it had been due to shut in September.
An alternative premises for a branch in the town centre has yet to be found, and it’s the third time an extension has been granted by the Post Office, as they continue the search.
The branch was first set to close in April after the sub-postmaster announced they would be resigning.
A Post Office spokesperson, said: “We understand how important a Post Office is to a community and we would like to reassure customers that we are working hard to maintain a Post Office in this area of Market Harborough.
“Any retailer or small business owner interested in running the Post Office and incorporating it into their business should email NTquestions@postoffice.co.uk or visit https://runapostoffice.co.uk.”
