Burglar Steals Charity Tins

A burglar stole charity tins from the Cherry Tree pub in Little Bowden in the early hours of today.

He forced a rear window to gain entry to the premises on Kettering Road at 2.15am.

The owners, who live above the pub, and were alerted when the burglar alarm was activated, have branded the intruder ‘the lowest of the lows’ for stealing money destined for local good causes.

Four charity tins were taken from the bar, including ones collecting money for the Market Harborough Poppy Appeal, Guide Dogs and Market Harborough Street Pastors.

The intruder, who had his face covered, also tried to force open tills – which were empty – and was caught on CCTV, which has been released to Hfm:

The burglary is the latest in a number that has seen shops targeted in Market Harborough in the past two weeks and Police believe it is the same person responsible.
