40 Arrests In 10 Days

40 drivers have been arrested in the first ten days of Leicestershire Police’s summer drink and drug drive campaign.

36 have failed roadside breath tests, including one stopped in Saddington, and 4 drivers were found under the influence of drugs at the wheel.

Ten of the arrests were made at the scene of crashes.

Police say they are disappointed at the high number.

Meanwhile, in Northamptonshire, where officers are publicly naming all drivers charged, 12 people have been arrested for drink driving and 7 for drug driving.
