A Market Harborough youngster whose life was saved by a five-organ transplant has been crowned a ‘Harborough Hero.’
The award was presented to Jay Crouch, aged 8, at yesterday’s Market Harborough Carnival, to recognise his bravery and how well he has recovered from the ten-hour operation last April., which saw him given two new kidneys, a pancreas, liver and bowel.

Since then he has had to learn to swallow and taste for the first time.
The operation was needed as Jay was born with a rare condition that caused his vital organs to fail.
Harborough MP Neil O’Brien presented the award.
