Rail Work ‘On-Track’

Major engineering work at Market Harborough Railway Station is on target to be completed on Sunday.
The line through town has been closed since Monday to allow for a new section of straighter track to be connected and new platforms prepared for use.
The old platforms have also been removed.
The work is part of the £53m upgrade of the station and the Line Speed Improvement scheme.
Coaches continue to replace trains this weekend, with the track re-opening alongside the new platforms and the opening of a new bridge with lifts, on Monday.
