New Plan For Historic Building

New plans have been announced to convert a historic building in Market Harborough town centre into apartments.
The scheme for Brooklands House on Northampton Road would provide 14 two-bedroomed apartments and one one-bed, with developers saying there is demand for such accommodation in town.

It includes a new two-storey building going up at the rear, backing onto Walcot Road.
A plan approved two years ago to provide apartments and detached houses on the site has never progressed.
The building, that went up in the 19th Century as a home for the Symington Family, has stood empty for the last four years after previously being used as an office for Social Services.
