New Council Chairman

Harborough Council has a new chairman.
Cllr Barbara Johnson, who first became a councillor in the Logan ward of Market Harborough in 2007, was elected to the role at the Annual Council meeting last night, taking over from Lesley Bowles.

The Liberal Democrat will represent the Authority at events and engagements over the next year and has chosen to support charity Spectrum LAS – a support group for parents and carers of children, young people and adults on the Autism Spectrum or on the Autism diagnosis pathway, during her time in office.
Cllr Stephen Bilbie, district councillor for the Fleckney ward, was appointed as vice chairman.
Outgoing chairman Lesley Bowles thanked those who had supported her during her year in office.
