Fraud Probe At Medical Centre

An investigation has been launched into an alleged serious fraud at Kibworth Medical Centre.

It’s after financial irregularities were reported to Police by the medical group who operate the GP practice on Smeeton Road.

The South Leicestershire Medical Group says it is assisting officers with their enquiries and understands the revelation maybe of concern to patients and the local community.

It is stressing there is nothing to suggest patient care or services have been adversely affected.

A Leicestershire Police spokesperson told Hfm: “Police are carrying out further enquiries after they received an allegation of financial irregularities at a medical practice in Kibworth.

“While those enquiries are ongoing it would be inappropriate to comment further at this stage.”

Kibworth Medical Centre merged with the Two Shires Medical Practice last month to form the new medical group.
