Two people have been freed by firefighters after being trapped in a car that overturned onto its side on Fairfield Road in Market Harborough.

Emergency services were called to near the Market Harborough C of E Primary School just before 3.30pm.

Fire crews from Market Harborough and Wigston attended the scene together with ambulance service and the air ambulance was also scrambled to the scene.

Police say injuries sustained by those in the car– which was the only vehicle involved – are not believed to be serious.

The road was closed for a time but has since partially re-opened, although Highways engineers have been called to the scene to repair the road surface and a bollard damaged by the crash.
