Volunteers who run Market Harborough’s Foodbank are appealing for more donations.
They are struggling to cope with demand for the service, which in the past year has seen referrals increase by 54 per cent – with over 1700 people helped.
Latest figures show in the first two months of this year over 3,000 meals were provided.
Colin Sole is one of those involved in the Jubilee Foodbank:
Colin also says there is extra demand in school holiday periods, like Easter, as many children from families they support get free meals at school, but not during the holidays.
