Developers To Fight To Build Homes

Developers are to fight for the right to build 130 new homes on the edge of Fleckney.

They were refused permission to build the estate on land east of Fleckney Road on the Saddington side of the village last year, on the grounds it would harm the landscape and impact the surrounding countryside.

But Gladman Developments have lodged an appeal, meaning a government planning inspector will now review Harborough Council’s decision.

Fleckney Parish Council also spoke out when the Council’s planning committee considered the application, saying the number of homes was too great, and infrastructure like roads would struggle to cope.
