CCTV Call After ATM Raid

There are calls for CCTV to be installed on part of the Southern Estate in Market Harborough.
It’s been prompted by yesterday’s theft of cash from the ATM machine on Western Avenue that was blown-up and an incident last Friday, when three masked men tried to force their way into living accommodation above the nearby Royalist pub.
Residents have told Hfm a camera, linked to the town’s monitored control room, should be installed on Western Avenue, to act as a deterrent and also provide evidence of crimes.
Harborough Council is currently considering expanding its network of monitored cameras.
It’s Community Safety Partnership has tweeted today:
Cllr Michael Rickman said we take the safety of our residents seriously and, as well as extra police patrols in Western Ave in #Harborough, the @HarbCSP is looking at further measures which can be deployed in this area to provide reassurance following the cash machine incident
