The war between 1950 and 1953 claimed the lives of over 1000 British Servicemen and left over 2,000 wounded, after the UK entered the conflict as part of a United Nations coalition, which was tasked with defending South Korea from North Korean aggression.

The conflict has become known as the ‘Forgotten War’ due to its relative proximity to the end of the Second World War, and the beginning of the Cold War.
