Prolific Shoplifter Banned From Stores

A prolific shoplifter has been banned from entering a string of supermarkets and convenience stores — including in Market Harborough — after being made subject to a Criminal Behaviour Order.

Dion Robinson, 34, of no fixed address, was given the two-year order following an application by Leicestershire Police.

He is now prohibited from entering 14 locations, including Sainsbury’s on Springfield Street, the BP garage at the McDonald’s roundabout in Market Harborough, and the Co-op and pharmacy in Houghton on the Hill.

Sainsbury’s in Market Harborough is one location which Robinson is banned from entering.

Any breach of the order is a criminal offence and could result in a prison sentence.

The order was issued after Robinson pleaded guilty to stealing scratchcards and cigarettes from a Tesco store in Leicester at the city’s Magistrates Court.

Locations covered by the ban are:

  • Tesco Express, Downing Drive, Evington

  • Co-op, Main Street, Scraptoft

  • Co-op, Station Road, Thurnby

  • Tesco Express, Humberstone Lane, Leicester

  • Co-op, Launceston Road, Wigston

  • BP Garage, Melton Road, Queniborough

  • Sainsbury’s, St Mary’s Place, Market Harborough

  • Henry Smith & Hamylton Opticians, The Parade, Oadby

  • Co-op, High Street, Desford

  • Tesco Express, Uplands Road, Oadby

  • Co-op, London Road, Leicester

  • Co-op, Main Street, Houghton on the Hill

  • Houghton Pharmacy, Main Street, Houghton on the Hill

  • BP Garage, Melton Road, Market Harborough

Police say the order is designed to protect businesses and communities from further offending.
