Wind Prevents Lancaster Dams Flight

Lancaster BomberWind conditions means a planned flight by one of the last two remaining Lancaster Bombers over part of the Welland Valley today has had to be cancelled.

It was to mark the 75th anniversary of the Dambusters raid on German dams and pass over Eyebrook Reservoir near Caldecott – the dams there were used as one of the practice sites before the raid in 1943.

The RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight has announced a Typhoon will instead fly as much of the route as possible – expected over Eyebrook at 12.22pm
