HFM Celebrate 20 Years Since First Broadcast
Before HFM became a full time station in 2007, the group broadcast a total of 11 Restricted Service Licences (R.S.L.'s). These were full blown broadcasts for 28 days at a time. The first broadcast commenced at 12 noon on Sunday May 21st 1995. On 21st May 2015, the team celebrated 20 years of truly local comunity radio. The day was made extra special as we were joined on air by the original Chairman of the station Bob Scott. Bob remenissed with Chris Jones about the early days of the station, and how Bob , together with John Fitzpatrick and a team of volunteers turned an idea of local radio for Market Harborough into a reality.
The HFM team also received a massive surprise when Marie Connor from Harborough Against Bullying broke off from an interview to present a surprise trophy to HFM for all of our community involvement over the past 20 years.
There was also cake and bubbles...............
