SwiMarathon Presentation Evening
The Rotary Club of Market Harborough made awards of grants local organisations, totalling £7,000. The money was raised from the SwiMarathon event held in March at Harborough Leisure Centre. Swimmers were sponsored and many local businesses also gave sponsorship. The awards were presented at a special Rotary meeting, to which the business sponsors were also invited.
Each grant recipient had the opportunity to talk for 2 minutes about their organisation and how the money in the grant would be spent. One of the benefits of the whole event was how much everybody there learned about other good causes in Market Harborough, as well as about Rotary and the SwiMarathon. It was wonderful to hear how many people volunteer in so many various and busy ways in and around Harborough.
This is the sixth year the Rotary Club of Market Harborough has been able to give away money to local worthy organisations.
